Ceramic Crates, 2011-2015
Copies and reinterpretations of plastic crates, milk crates and other plastic utility boxes made in earthenware, stoneware and porcelain. First shown in a group show at ACME Gallery in LA in early 2011, these forms have been exhibited widely including Bucketry at ACME in 2011, .SUM at the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art in 2012, and many other exhibitions. The Triangle Crates were an outgrowth of this investigation, as were the forms in the more recent Jomon Bucketry body of work.
